It only pays attention to the files within the folder. (The basics haven't changed.)īe aware that Windows ignores the "read only" attribute on folders themselves.

You can't really get around this with a "system protected" tree like "Program Files", but you will be able to break the "inherit from parent" property in some folder on your J: drive. The "read only" (RO) attribute is getting reset because the folder it is in is inheriting it's permissions from the parent folder, which is likely getting them from it's parent, all the way back up to the drive itself. I dont know what to doįallout.ini was supposed to be in my steam game data (That was needed to validate the archive) it actually didnt work, like nothing actually happened, so i had to search in Documents/My games/Fallout NV/ and FALLOUT.ini was in there, i changed it from there and the purple menu crash error happened, i know the original FALLOUT.ini its that one because i've tried changing some of it values with other mods like XRE cars that need to be changed and all of that, so i dont know what happens to the textures, i need help.I lost my bet ? Oh well, here's your cookie. Well, for example, EWIs pack, i downloaded it from Nexus mod community, i used the Nexus mod manager to install it, and it did actually install, so i got in the game, everything went well, and nothing changed, then i searched the internet for a fix, and it said that i had to do something with the archivevalidation or something like that, i did everything, then when i opened the game the menu and everything was purple, i couldnt see ♥♥♥♥, and then for some reason the game crashed too, so i uninstalled every mod, then i installed them again, i tried with NMC texture pack, when i installed it with NMM again, in the main menu, it had the text that said Fallout New vegas NMCs texture pack, i entered my saved game, and nothing happened, it only showed the NMC texture in the loading screen (The roulette thingie), i then tried to validate the archive AGAIN, and the same ♥♥♥♥ happened, and so on.
